Add the digits of your birth month, day, and year separately, reducing each to a single digit or master number (11, 22, or 33). Add those three results together and reduce once more. That final number is your life path number. The whole thing takes about 90 seconds with a pen.
Step-by-step example: December 5, 1988
Month: December = 12, reduce to 1 + 2 = 3
Day: 5 (already single digit)
Year: 1988 = 1 + 9 + 8 + 8 = 26, reduce to 2 + 6 = 8
Sum: 3 + 5 + 8 = 16, reduce to 1 + 6 = 7
Life path number: 7
What are master numbers?
If any step produces 11, 22, or 33, stop reducing and keep that value. These are master numbers, and they are not reduced further in numerology tradition. If your year digits sum to 22, for example, you carry the 22 forward rather than collapsing it to 4.
